Adventures in Oak Class 2023/24
Our seasonal, topic based and child-led planning ensures our children take part in a wide range of meaningful experiences and activities.

Clay Bird Workshop
Inspired by the Big Birdwatch, Oak Class had a go at creating their own clay birds with the help of visiting environmental artist Jayne Ivimey.

Big Schools Birdwatch
We took part in the RSPB Big Schools Birdwatch. We made bird feeders to entice the birds and built hides to observe them closely. We saw lots of robins, blue tits and blackbirds.

Celebrating Spring Festival
We celebrated Chinese New Year or Spring Festival with lots of traditional activities such as drogon and lion dancing, hanging lanturns and Chinese drumming.

Hunting for Treasure
Oak Class went in search of natural objects to make decorations to sell at our Christmas Fair. We raised an amazing £100 for the 'Just One Tree' reforestation initiative. Well done Oak Class

Three Bears Porridge
As part of our Traditional Tales theme we made porridge just like the bears do in the story of Goldilocks. It was super yummy with honey and banana!

Enjoying the weather
We made the most of the windy weather and made paper kites to fly in the playground.

Nativity
The children in Oak Class performed a Nativity for all the parents. Narrated by Willow Class they did a wonderful job of bringing the Christmas Story to life.

A letter for Father Christmas
We wrote letters to Father Christmas and posted them in the local post box.

Planting for Wildlife
Oak Class planted flower bulbs in the hope that they will provide insects with a winter snack during the colder months.

Musical Obstacle Course
The children in Oak Class worked together to create this wonderful obstacle course. Some children provided a musical accompaniment whilst others danced around the course!
